Ballymoney foodbank director, Peter Rollins, has provided their latest update, including the announcement of this year Tesco’s Foodbank Christmas collection.
Providing the latest update for October, Peter wrote: “In October we received 144 referrals from various agencies which resulted in Foodbank giving out food to 365 people. This equates to 3000.06 kgs of food distributed, not including fresh produce and toiletries. In comparison to September’s usage that was a substantial increase in demand for help, approximately a 20% increase.
“We are grateful for the massive support we have received from numerous churches, schools and individuals especially as a result of recent harvest services. I’d also like to thank all those who either donated part or all of their £100 voucher in the form of groceries. As usual a massive ‘thank you’ to all our amazing volunteers and to Basil Knipe for the continued use of his premises.
“Our Tesco collection days take place next week on Thursday, Friday & Saturday (18th, 19th & 20th November) and can I thank all the Tesco staff involved who have helped to facilitate it.
“Once again thank you all for your continued support of Foodbank.”
