The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has held a special civic reception for members of Ballymoney Evergreen Club.

The group recently received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Offering his congratulations, Councillor Sean Bateson said:

“I was delighted to have this opportunity to welcome members of Ballymoney Evergreen Club to Cloonavin and celebrate the role they play in the local community.

“The group provides an important service for older people, organising recreation and wellbeing opportunities which undoubtedly have a positive effect on the lives of those who take part. They are very much deserving of such public recognition and I would like to thank all those involved with making the Club so successful.”
