Ulster Unionist Councillor Joan Baird has congratulated Bushmills Distillery after tree planting scheme.
Making the comment on Facebook, Cllr Baird said:
“Some good news for a change – Bushmills Distillery have just completed planting over 70,000 trees – leading the way – well done to our oldest Distillery.”
The UUP Councillor also reveals that a motion to plant £100k within the borough over 3 years passed unanimously at Environmental Services Committee meeting on Tuesday night, saying:
“Trees store carbon dioxide over 40 years one tree can store 1 Ton.
“This can help stop Global Warming and even reverse some effects. Motion goes to full Council on 7 April.”
