Could tonight have marked the final ‘Clap for our Carers’?

Tonight could have marked the final ‘Clap for our carers’ – as the original campaigner Anne-Marie Plas has said that the tenth week of showing support for Carers and key workers is ‘ a good time to stop’.

Instead Anne-Marie has proposed that it should be marked annually going forward, possibly on the date that the UK went into lockdown.

Over 10 weeks, the UK has saw individuals take to their doorsteps, windows and streets to clap each week at 8pm. Pots and pans, drums and even sing alongs have become part of the weekly event.

Locally, staff from Causeway Hospital have gathered outside, joined most weeks by at least one other of the emergency services and even members of the public.

So should this be the final week of ‘clap for our Carers’? Let us know infor@popsmedia.co.uk
