Glebeside Estate to celebrate VE Day with ‘stay at home’ street party

The Glebeside Estate in Ballymoney will come together on Friday the 8th May for a VE Day celebration, a ‘stay at home street party’

Residents are invited to decorate their houses, set up a BBQ, bake, play music and generally enjoy themselves while celebrating VE Day with neighbours, all the while sticking to the social distancing guidelines.

May 8th 1945 was the date the Allies celebrated the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of Adolf Hitler’s Reich, formally recognising the end of the Second World War in Europe. This became known as VE (Victory in Europe) Day.
