‘Royal Approval’ for Ballymoney Soldiers emotional reunion with Son

A video of a Soldier from Ballymoney who surprised his son during a football match whilst on leave, has went viral,

Lance corporal Laverty of the Irish Guards made a surprise trip home and can be seen in the video standing on the pitch sideline before his Son realises who it was.

Normally the football match would be the only and most important thing on the keen young footballers mind, but in that moment it was all forgotten, as he dashed across the pitch into the arms of his Dad for a long and emotional embrace.

The video, which was taken by the child’s mother, has been widely shared over social media and even broadcast on SKY News.

BUT it didn’t stop there, getting Royal approval from Prince William & Kate, after Kensington Palace’s official social media account shared the clip, with the caption: ‘A sweet moment as Lcpl Laverty of the IrishGuards, of which Prince William is Colonel, returns home from training to surprise his son.’ View the full video HERE.
