Rosemary and Violet Hunter from Goodwill Growing presented a cheque for £2050 to Sam Morrison and Kevin Hoy at St James Chruch Ballymoney.
Kevin Hoy the founder of The Smiles Foundation was holding an information evening updating on all the amazing work this charity does.
At the end of the evening Goodwill Growing were delighted to present him and Sam Morrison with their share of the profits from the Goodwill Growing charity field with a cheque for £2,050.
“This was quite special for us as 6 years ago this was where our dear friend the late Barbara Morrison was holding a Smiles evening and where we both made a decision that night to go out on our first mission trip.
Speaking after the cheque presentation, Ms Hunter said;
“We went out with Barbara that summer along with a team of others from all from the Route Presbytery and it was where we got our first glimpse of the amazing sunflower fields they have growing there and driving along the road Barbara told us they were her favourite flower.
“Two years ago we went back out again with Barbara in October for another week. Next month we go back out on a sacks of smiles trip delivering gifts to children and adults that would get nothing if Smiles wasn’t there. This time will be very different as we have no Barbara but our wee sunflower field was planted in loving memory of one fabulous lady.
“Thank you Barbara for introducing us to this amazing charity and the work that it does to help those that need it most.
