Weight loss challenge to benefit NI Children’s Hospice

Imagine losing a little weight, and at the same time raising money for worthy cause?

That’s exactly what a group of individuals are doing on behalf of a children’s hospice charity.

Based in Newtownabbey, The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice (NICH) Charity provides ‘specialist respite, symptom management and end of life palliative care to over 300 infants, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses both in the family home and in the Children’s Hospice unit.’

One of the participants in this weight loss challenge and fundraiser is local councillor, Ivor Wallace.

Talking about the challenge Ivor explained;

“Some of us are trying to lose a few lbs. Others are just doing the challenge to improve their health.

“This 8 weeks challenge has set us on our way to a better lifestyle and raise some funds for NICH.”

But it was the need to lose weight and a recent chance meeting that prompted Ivor to take on this challenge.

Going on to take about a very special individual, Ivor said his inspiration is;

“A young man called Ross McCloy who is a great ambassador for this wonderful charity.”

To donate what you can to this challenge and raise money for The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, a JustGiving page has been set up.

The final word goes to Ivor – “We would appreciate whatever support you can give.”
