The Environmental Services Committee tonight agreed that they would recommend providing a section of Coleraine Cemetery to accommodate Muslim faith burials.

The proposal put forward was that: ‘Council have been approached by representatives from the Muslim community asking if Council would provide a section of a cemetery, preferably in the ‘Triangle’ area, to accommodate Muslim burials.’

It was proposed by Alderman Boyle & seconded by Councillor Bateson and following the proposal put to the committee, there were no objections, therefore: It is recommended that the Environmental Services Committee recommend that Council provide a section of Coleraine Cemetery to accommodate Muslim faith burials.
