Mayor’s tribute to John Dallat

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has paid tribute to John Dallat following his death earlier this week.

Councillor Sean Bateson said the former Coleraine Borough Councillor and Assembly member would be remembered for his unwavering commitment to those he served:

“John was a very proud Kilrea man, who dedicated his life to his work as a public representative. He broke down boundaries and always extended the hand of friendship and respect to all those around him.

“His daughter Helena followed him in to politics and as a fellow Causeway Coast and Glens Councillor and I want to offer her my deepest sympathies, along with John’s wife Anne, sons Diarmuid and Ronan and the wider Dallat family.

“John will be very sadly missed in Kilrea and beyond, and I hope his legacy and achievements will bring comfort to his family and colleagues.”
