Coleraine woman convicted for £11,000 benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on 9th August for claiming over £11,000 in benefits she was not entitled to. (SOURCE: Department for Communities)

Yvonne Holmes (50) of The Crescent, Coleraine, claimed Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £11,163 while failing to declare employment.

She was given three months imprisonment suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
