Defendant asks Barrister NOT to make an application of bail

A defendant in a case listed at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday, October 19 asked his Defence Barrister not to apply for bail.

Linton Campbell (35) of Mill Water Mews Stranocum Ballymoney, appeared via video link from Coleraine custody charged with an alleged threat to kill and GBH on October 17.

A Police officer told the court that he believed he could connect the defendant with the charges.

Defence Barrister Andrew Moriarty told the court that after speaking with the defendant: ”Mr Campbell advised he doesn’t want a (bail) application to be made at this time”.

The prosecution in the case said that medical notes were required including forensics of a ring belonging to the defendant.

Campbell was remanded in custody to appear again via video link on November 15 at Coleraine Magistrates Court.
