Ludmila Poletelova murder accused appeared before Ballymena Magistrates’ court

Svetlana Svedova (45) of College Court, Limavady appeared before Ballymena Magistrates’ Court via videolink this morning sitting in Antrim charged with the murder of Ludmila Poletelova, Contrary to Common Law between the dates of 19 April 2021 and 24 April 2021 in Limavady.

A post mortem was carried out last Saturday which established the victim (Ludmila Poletelova) died as a result of a number of blows to the head. Ms Poletelova was a Latvian national who had lived and worked in Limavady for a number of years.

A police officer said she could connect the accused to the charges.

The Defence barrister in the case was Francis Rafferty.

Svedova was remanded into custody to reappear before court on 10th May 2021.
