Key workers children can return to school on Monday ‘only as a last resort’ says Department

The Department of Education is advising parents that fall into the category of ‘key workers’ to only send their children to school on Monday as a ‘last resort’

The department has the following advice for ‘key workers’:

“Limited education supervision is available in schools from Monday 23 March only as a last resort option for the children of key workers who are crucial to the Covid-19 response.

“Only send your child to school if you are a key worker who has no other viable option. If you can make other arrangements do not send your child to school.

“Principals/school staff are working hard to manage this very difficult situation and to ensure that children are safe.”
