12 year old assaulted by ‘gang’ of youths at Ballymoney trim trail

The mother of a 12-year-old boy has spoken of her concern after her son was assaulted in Ballymoney by several youths on Thursday.

Along with three of his friends in the trim trail area of the town, a gang of youth attacked the boy causing him a number of injuries.

Speaking to the Bubble, the boy’s mother told us: “My 12-year-old son was attacked yesterday by a gang of seven youths at the forest behind Supervalu Ballymoney.

“My son was with 3 of his own friends when it happened. They held him and wiped him with reeds and sticks, kicked him in the bottom.

“He has cuts to his back of legs, head and bruising on his bottom its disgusting.

The incident has since been reported to police as a PSNI spokesperson said they, “received a report of an assault on a boy by several other boys in the Ballymena Road area of Ballymoney on Thursday 14th April.

“Officers are working to identify all of the boys involved and enquiries are ongoing. There are no further details at present.”
