A 27 year old male from Bushmills was accused today (Friday) at Coleraine Court with the Robbery of a filling station on the Bushmills Road in Coleraine.
The male, named as Kyle Parke with his address listed as Heronshaw in the village, is accused of robbery where he took £975 in cash and a quantity of Tobacco on Wednesday night.
It was reported that Mr Parke robbed the filling station at knifepoint before making off with the cash and tobacco. The accused was arrested the following day in the Glenvara Drive area in Ballysally.
After the incident on Wednesday, MLA Maurice Bradley said;
“I believe this is the 28th robbery at this filling station over the years, and as far as I am aware, no-one has ever been brought to justice.
This is a business in the town providing a necessary service, it is popular and a busy forecourt and shop.The staff are shaken, but thankfully no-one was hurt.
Mr Parke, also accused of possession of an offensive weapon (knife) with intent to commit a robbery and assault on police, is remanded in custody at Maghaberry prison with the case is adjourned to 4th February.
