Causeway Coast and Glens Councillor, Alderman John Finlay, has confirmed that Main Street in the North Antrim village Cloughmills, is to be resurfaced.
In a social media post on Thursday evening, Mr Finlay, who is also a resident of the village, wrote: “Today I am delighted to have received confirmation that resurfacing work is to commence on the Main Street in Cloughmills.
“The contractors will start at the Ballyveely Road next week, before taking a break for the July holidays. After the holidays, when the road should be quieter due to the schools being finished, repair work will commence on the Main Street.
“I have been campaigning for improvements on this stretch of road for a considerable period of time and have been in contact with numerous residents regarding the poor condition of the road. I trust that this news will be welcomed and I look forward to seeing the essential work commence in the coming days.”
