A Ballymoney family run business, Outdoor Life situated in the Seymour area of the town, was the target of ‘shocking and heartbreaking’ break-in in the early hours of this morning, according to its owners.
At approximately 1am (Wednesday), at least two individual was captured on the businesses CCTV, breaking into the shop and stealing a bicycle.
The shop which also sells outdoor clothing and accessories, as well a large selection of bicycles, suffered hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the building, say the owners.
The bike which was stolen was a bright green Merida hardtail, costing £650.
A owners told the Ballymoney Bubble:
“We are a family run business trying our best to serve the community in the middle of a pandemic and this has completely broken our heart.
“We need to find out who this is or they could keep hitting local businesses, We are all so shocked at this. Struggling to process how heartbreaking it all is.
“Being a victim of something like this takes processing time. We feel like someone has tried to take our livelihood.”
Local Councillor, John Finlay on hearing the news this morning, has said:
“This is yet another attack on a popular Ballymoney trader, who are already suffering because of the lockdown by the virus, and now this.
“This is just shameful act and I hope we can see those involved soon brought to justice.”
