Ballymoney Hockey Club have taken it upon themselves to offer help and support to the local community, particularly the elderly, as the situation surrounding the Coronavirus developed.
The club reached out on social media early on Saturday morning, asking for donations of food, toiletries and money, to help with their appeal.
The plan is now to box these items up and distribute them among the elderly or others who are unable to get out themselves.

Speaking following the conclusion this evening of receiving the donations from members of the public to the Hockey Club, a spokesperson said:
“We have had a phenomenal response to our request for help. Thank you all so much.
“We are now in a position to reach out to those who need it most! Any requests for help will be treated confidentially.
“If you or someone you know, is struggling during these uncertain times please get in contact with us via the page or via the mobile number for the club 07376 851063.”
“We are all in this together, a little help goes a long way.”

Ballymoney Hockey Club members have also offered help with shopping and collection of prescriptions by calling 07376 851063.
