Ballycastle, Co Antrim – In a dramatic turn of events, a boat carrying two individuals caught fire this evening, forcing them to jump into the sea to save their lives. The incident occurred a few miles off the coast, between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island.
At approximately 8 pm, emergency services received distress calls reporting a boat on fire in the waters off Co Antrim. Within minutes, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was dispatched to the scene, alongside other emergency responders.
Fortunately, a passing boat was nearby and managed to rescue the stranded individuals from the water before the RNLI arrived. The heroic actions of those on the passing boat undoubtedly prevented a potentially tragic outcome.
Following their rescue, the two survivors were transferred to the RNLI vessel, which then transported them to an awaiting ambulance at Ballycastle. The condition of the individuals is currently unknown, as medical professionals are attending to them.
