It seems that yet again a car has become stuck in the river between the Strands of Benone and Downhill, requiring the Coleraine Coastguard to pull the car to safety.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard confirms the callout saying:
“Unfortunately an all too common callout for us, a car was stuck in the river at the Umbra between Benone and Downhill Strands.
“Luckily no one was in danger this time but this river is far too deep to try and cross, especially after all the recent heavy downpours.”
