Ballymoney DUP Councillor, John Finlay, has welcomed the news that the Causeway and Glens area is back in business, with the Borough exceeding its New Business Start-up target by 148 percent. Overall, Northern Ireland exceed its target by 13 percent.

“I welcome this result, which reflects the hard efforts put in by the people of Causeway and Glens.

“After far too many years of hardship Causeway Coast and Glens is on the road to recovery and this is down to the initiative of local people.

“The Borough is a place to do business, with easy accessibility to Northern Ireland’s two main cities – Londonderry and Belfast.

“The loss of so many large industries in other local towns has had it impact on the Causeway and Glens area, but people are fighting back – which is great to see.

“I am pleased that Causeway Coast and Glens is leading the way in exceeding its target by 148 percent. When compared to the Northern Ireland figure of 13 percent this represents a tremendous achievement.

“I am a supporter of home grown businesses, and we should all be doing our bit to support local businesses, especially those on our high streets.

“Local, independent businesses are key to tourism, and this is a very important factor in the Borough exceeding its target.

“I just want to say well done to those who have established new start ups in the Borough, and that I stand beside them in supporting them in the years to come.”
