Cllr Cathal Mclaughlin has welcomed the opening of a new supermarket in the village of Cloughmills.

Mr Mclaughlin said,

“For years the village has been restricted to one supermarket, and with a population of over 1500 people, there was always room for another.

Mace are the contributors to the store, and speaking the supermarket manager, Michael Waide, said:

“For over 55 years, Mace has been at the heart of local communities across the north. A locally owned company, Mace is proud of their growing network of stores offering convenience, quality and exceptional value to our customers.

“Whether you are nipping in to use the free cash machine, grabbing a freshly brewed coffee on the go or picking up something tasty for tea, the local Mace store prides itself on having exactly what you need, when you need it. We are very lucky to be in Co-operation with them.”

Cllr Mclaughlin concluded by saying:

“To serve a rural village community is a privilege, and being switched on to your local needs is the centre of their business model. Every community is different, the retailers work hard to ensure that Mace stores deliver product ranges, value and service tailored to your local area.

“I wish to congratulate all involved and wish them every success for the future.”
