Councillor Darryl Wilson condemns local shooting
Ulster Unionist Cllr Darryl Wilson has condemned the shooting of an 18year old man in the Moneycannon Road area of Ballymoney
Cllr Wilson said
We awoke to the news this morning that an 18 year old man had been shot in the arms and legs in the early hours of Sunday morning.
This is a particularly brutal attack which I condemn wholeheartedly, however, my condemnation will not prevent further attacks like these from taking place.
Now is the time to engage with the local community and the PSNI to take a long hard and honest look at why these attacks are continuing.
Community activists and civic leaders have a duty to ask questions as to why certain individuals feel the need to take the law into their own hands and what can be done to eradicate anti social behaviour at its very core.
I would urge anyone with any information to come forward to the PSNI as soon as possible.
