A deliberate fire appears to have been started yesterday evening in a skip outside a business unit on the Ballybrakes industrial estate in Ballymoney.

CCTV shows two individuals acting suspiciously around a skip which was situated outside the showrooms of EFS NI Ltd, before they are seen making off.

Soon after a passerby noticed the skip alight and reported it to NIFRS, who were soon on the scene to quickly extinguish the blaze.

Thankfully the damage was limited to the skip and its content but the business has since spoken of their disgust, saying: “So tonight these pair thought it would be funny to set alight the skip at the front of our showroom and if it wasn’t for a passer-by calling the fire brigade there could’ve been a lot more damage done to the frontage of our building.

Police are now in possession of the CCTV from the business premises and have said:

Police received a report of a skip on fire in the Ballybrakes Road area of Ballymoney on Thursday evening at around 9:20 pm.

”Enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of the fire.”
