Dungiven House Burglary
D

It was reported that sometime between 4.30pm and 12.20am entry was forced to a house on the Gelvin Road. A number of rooms in the property were ransacked and a sum of money stolen as a result.

Detective Sergeant Gardiner is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist police with their investigation to contact detectives in Coleraine on 101 quoting reference number 33 17/08/19. Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who noticed any vehicles in the area yesterday evening or last night.

Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.

Police are aware of the impact that burglaries can have. Don’t make it easy for the opportunistic burglar – stay alert to your surroundings and report anything suspicious to police immediately. Please ensure that all doors and windows are secured, even when at home. If you do have CCTV systems, ensure that they are working, and please look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours and check on them regularly.
