Dunloy Accordion Band wish ‘speedy recovery’ to heart attack Male at parade

On Saturday night, the annual Dunloy Accordion Band Parade, was delayed while an emergency was dealt with after a member of Killycoogan took a heart attack on the route.

Due to the quick thinking of several individuals, the male named as former bandmaster Cyril Glass, is recovering well in hospital.

Dunloy has since posted a statement wishing Mr Glass a ‘speedy recovery’ and thanking those who helped him.

In it they said,

“On behalf of the band we would like to send Cyril Glass our sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery. An absolute gentleman of the highest level, a devoted Orangeman and the heart and soul of Killycoogan Independent Accordion Band, we were all deeply affected by the events that unfolded on Saturday night at our parade.

“A massive thank you must go out to all those who quickly assisted – Carson Shaw, the off duty nurses, Mark Heaney, the members of Moneyslane Flute Band, the PSNI and those who helped out in any way – THANK YOU.

“We have been in touch and Cyril is recovering well in hospital.”
