Police in Coleraine are searching for escaped prisoner Victor Kennedy who made off from Causeway Hospital last night (Sunday, 24 September).
Inspector Frank Smyth said: “The 40-year old had been taken to hospital by prison staff for treatment to an arm injury when he made off from them at approximately 10:45pm.
“He is described as being 5’9” tall, of a stocky build with a shaved head. He has letters tattooed on each hand that spell the words ‘LOVE’ on one hand, and ‘HATE’ on the other.
“He made off wearing a grey hooded top, blue jeans and grey trainers and possibly had one arm in a sling.
“We are appealing to the public if they come into contact with Victor Kennedy not to approach him, but to call police immediately on 101, quoting reference 1606 24/09/17; or Call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
