With Halloween, just a number of weeks away, already incidents of antisocial behaviour involving fireworks in the village of Cloughmills have been reported to Police.

Local Councillor, Alderman John Finlay, has described these as ’extremely dangerous acts’ which are causing ’serious inconvenience’.

According to Mr Finlay these incidents ”have been starting from early evening until the early hours of the morning, having effects on both residents and animals.”

Amongst these, reports of fireworks being thrown at vehicles have been received by the local Councillor who is concerned about the damage & injury these could cause.

Alderman Finlay has contacted the Police as a matter of urgency, saying: ”I hope this can be resolved before there are any serious consequences.

”I would ask that those who are responsible please refrain from playing with fireworks, for not only your own safety but the safety of all other residents and road users in the village.”
