Local business man Dick Barkley passes away

Popular transport business man Dick Barkley has sadly passed away.

DUP Alderman John Finlay has expressed his sadness at the sudden passing of the Ballymoney businessman.

“I was saddened to learn of the sudden passing of well-known Ballymoney businessman Mr Dick Barkley. R Barkley & Sons have been road haulage contractors since 1962 and are a well-respected firm, providing much-needed jobs and an excellent service. The lorries are a familiar sight on our roads.

“Dick was a gentleman and he will be greatly missed. I extend my sincere condolences to his sorrowing wife and family. May they know the Lord’s hand upon them at this difficult time”.
