North Antrim DUP MLA and Policing Board Member Mervyn Storey and Causeway Cost & Glens Councillor John McAuley have condemned the latest attack outside Stranocum last night.
Commenting Mervyn Storey said:
“Sadly yet again we have had a shooting attack in the area. Last night three men entered a property in the Ballykenver road outside Stranocum and shot a man in the arms and legs.
“As with previous attacks they are to be condemned in the strongest possible way. As we we are seeing a worrying increase in these attacks I will be meeting with senior Police Commanders to discuss how they are going to deal with this upsurge and give confidence to the local community that all is being do to catch those responsible.”
Cllr John McAuley said,
“Whatever it is alleged by those who carried out this attack, no one has the right to enter a property and inflict this sinister form of justice on anyone.
“I would appeal to anyone with information to contact the police, so that those responsible can be brought before the courts and dealt with according to the law and not in the fashion we saw meted out last night.”
