A man aged 40 who’s address was stated as being in Ballymoney, has appeared in court accused with the sexual assault of a young 12 year old girl at a Londonderry bowling alley.
Tomas Varga, who is a Czech national was listed as living at a house in Union Street, Ballymoney, faces one charge of sexual assault relating to the alleged incident at the weekend.
The Magistrates Court in Londonderry heard allegations that the 40-year-old was in the Bowling Alley with a friend and they were both drunk.
It is alleged he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl, who was there with her father but had become separated from her father and the accused in question, Varga allegedly reached out and touched the girl in the groin area.
One of the investigating officer stated the girl has been interviewed and said she did not want to make a scene at the time of the alleged incident and that she was ‘scared something would happen to her father’ because he was on his own and Varga was with another man.
The investigating officer also told the court there was CCTV of the alleged incident and items of evidence had been taken and sent for DNA analysis.
