Plans have been submitted to erect a new statue of William Dunlop in the memorial garden dedicated to his Father Robert and Uncle Joey.
William tragically lost his life at just 32, whilst out on a practice lap at the 2018 Skerries 100 road races.
Since then, calls for a memorial to be placed for William in the Dunlop Memorial garden at the bottom of Main Street in Ballymoney alongside his Father Robert has been welcomed.
A motion to add a tribute to William was passed by the Leisure & Development committee originally in September 2018.
Now plans have been submitted by Causeway Council for a statue to be erected, alongside that of Robert. If passed, the new statue will sit to the left of the current figure of Robert.
