A two vehicle crash on the Gracehill Road Armoy, has resulted in one person losing their life.
The crash, near the Dark Hedges, saw the emergency services attend the scene shortly after 7pm on Tuesday evening.
At the scene two people were treated by the Ambulance service before being transferred to the Causeway Hospital.
Unfortunately one of those involved in the crash died as a result of their injuries.
Cllr Wilson said;
I am deeply saddened to learn that one person has died following a serious two vehicle collision on the Gracehill Road near Armoy this evening.
This stretch of road has been an accident black spot over recent years with increased traffic due to local tourist attractions.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all impacted by this awful tragedy.
This morning police issued the following update.
Police can confirm that 31 year old Michael Munro from Orange, Connecticut, USA has died following a road traffic collision on the Gracehill Road in Armoy on Tuesday 25th September.
A woman aged in her 30’s remains in hospital being treated for injuries which are no thought to be life threatening. The road remains closed at this time as police conduct enquiries into the collision.
