Phased re-opening of Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre from Wednesday

Management of the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre have announced that a phased re-opening will commence from Wednesday (August 26th).

To begin the swimming pool will reopened with a representative for JDLC saying: “The pool will open in the interim for lane swimming only. Changing rooms and lockers are currently unavailable so customers are advised to arrive ‘pool ready’ with a towel and leave all valuable items at home.

It is hoped that other services, the gym and classes, will follow in the coming days

“Staff continue to do all they can to achieve a full re-opening across all sites, in line with necessary requirements to protect the health and safety of users.”

Going on to detail the new procedure to use the centres services, JDLC said: “Advance pre-booking will be required for swimming, gym and classes (when open) and this can be done via telephone to each site, online or through the CCG Leisure App.

“We encourage all our users to download the app to their phone now. It contains a wealth of information and allows you to make bookings, view timetables, see revised opening hours and hear the latest news from your chosen centre. If you prefer to book online go to www.causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk/see-do/leisure-centres/online-registration

“The re-opening of all six centres in the Borough has been a challenging task, however we are delighted to be in a position to welcome our customers back.

“To help prepare you fully, we would ask you to read through the COVID-19 guidance on our App and on the website. You will find lots of key information about what your visit to your chosen centre will be like under the current restrictions.
