Police patrol Ballymoney ‘hotspots’ following increase in anti-social behaviour

There has been an increased PSNI presence around Ballymoney today, as officers from the Ballycastle NPT (neighbourhood policing team) have been patrolling ‘hotspots’ within the town.

This is in response to complaints of what police have described as “anti-social behaviour and anti-social motoring” recently in Ballymoney Town.

Last weekend a young teenager was confronted by a group of youths and allegedly attacked – with damage caused to a vital piece of hearing equipment reported – near to Ballymoney train station following a band parade.

Police have said: “Ballycastle NPT officers have been out patrolling local hotspots and problem areas.

“We would encourage local youths to show responsibility and respect for their town when enjoying the facilities that are provided.

“Attention to these areas will continue over the Summer months.”
