Police are appealing for information following a report of a distraction burglary at a house in the Ballymacrea Road area of Portrush on Friday afternoon (March 4th).

Inspector Patton said: “Around 12:50pm, it was reported that two men called to a house in the area stating they were from a utilities company. A man and woman, who were inside the property, were distracted by one of the men, while the other entered the house.

“The two suspects left the property a short time later, and it’s believed that a purse, bank books and a sum of cash were taken during the incident. It is also believed that both men made off by car.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity at the time of the incidents to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 780 05/03/21.”
