Portrush will be the regional host of the BBC New Comedy Awards 2021, and they are on the lookout for aspiring comedians to enter the competition.
Young Creatives are being asked to make a short 2-minute film about the area and could potentially feature in the series broadcast on BBC ONE & BBC THREE.
A representative for the production responsible for the series said: “We’re currently now accepting submissions (sic) to submit a short film piece about the town Portrush and what makes it so unique, and why it’s great that we’re coming to there to host this prestigious competition.
“As this is a national talent search, we want to really put an emphasis on hitting all the regions and encouraging people of all ages and from walks of life to enter; and for the first time ever, we’re now accepting submissions from Young Comedians (15-17s).
“We are hitting up comedy clubs, community groups, student unions, youth centres as well as individuals directly.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for any bubbling stand-up comics or comedy content creators.”
“Just have fun with it, and be as creative as you want.”
