Due to the huge numbers expected over the week of the Open at Royal Portrush, the PSNI have encouraged those attending to use public transport.
Posting this morning, the PSNI wrote,
“As Portrush gets ready to host The 148th Open Championship please note that to assist with traffic management and reduce congestion in the vicinity of Royal Portrush and the surrounding area, temporary traffic regulations and parking restrictions will be introduced.
These will be enforced by traffic attendants and police in order to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses, assist traffic flow and keep road users safe.
Everyone attending The Open is encouraged to make full use of the extensive public transport options available.
There are also a number of Park & Ride sites available for anyone travelling by car.
Please turn off your satellite navigation systems and follow the appropriate signage. Please travel safely and enjoy your visit.”
