Claire Sugden MLA has condemned those behind a shooting in Coleraine on Thursday night (March 3).
A man was attacked by masked men in the Lisnablagh Road area at around 9pm and shot once in the leg. The perpetrators made off in the direction of Blackthorn Court.
“Any kind of gun violence must be strongly and roundly condemned,” Ms Sugden said. “The targeted and cold-blooded nature of this attack was particularly brutal, and those behind it need to be found and brought to justice.
“It is simply unacceptable that guns continue to be used by these criminal thugs who are nothing but a blight on their communities. People have the right to live without the fear of this kind of violence.
“Our communities deserve better than this and I would urge anyone with any information to contact the police on 101, using the reference number 1632 03/03/22.”
