East Londonderry Assembly candidate Claire Sugden has condemned the stabbing of a man in Coleraine as a “shocking and brutal” crime.
The man was attacked outside a house in the Clifton Park area of the town in the early hours of March 30.
“This was a particularly brutal attack in a residential area that is home to many families and elderly people,” Ms Sugden said.
“In addition to the harm caused to the victim, it has shocked and concerned locals. I would urge anyone with any information or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around 4.10am on March 30 to contact the police on 101.
“Crimes like this are simply unacceptable and the perpetrator or perpetrators need to be brought to justice as a matter of urgency.”
