East Londonderry MLA Claire Sugden has expressed her deepest condolences to the friends and family of Portstewart man Jon O’Hara who died in a car collision in Belfast on Saturday night.
Jon (47), who was one of two to die in the Ravenhill Road crash, attended Dominican College before moving to Belfast as an adult.
“Everyone who knew and loved Jon is going to be absolutely devastated by this news,” Ms Sugden said. “To lose a loved-one so suddenly will only add to the pain being felt by those close to him.
“I didn’t know Jon personally, but people locally have only good things to say about him. His death leaves behind family and friends torn apart by this horrendous news.
“Police have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them on 101 and I would reiterate this. One man has already been arrested in connection to the crash, but the PSNI need all the evidence they can get to understand how such a tragedy could have occurred.”
