Commenting Independent William McCandless said: “The news of a suspicious object being discovered in Articlave is most unwelcome. Local people having their evening disrupted on a bitterly cold dark Autumn evening is totally unacceptable.

“Instilling panic, disturbance and undoubtedly fear to this community is thoroughly inappropriate and I would appeal if anyone is aware of why this has device has been placed here or who was responsible please inform the PSNI.”
