Swimmer who died yesterday named locally

A swimmer who lost his life yesterday at Cushendall beach has been name locally as Hugh Barry.

Mr Barry was a well know and a keen cyclist. Elaine O Boyle from the Glens cycling club said:

“Hugh Barry loved Glens CC and his love of cycling was infectious and inspirational to all that knew him.
All members of Glens CC are in shock and are absolutely devastated and for Eillis, his wife and esteemed club member”
