Teenager hospitalised following assault in Ballycastle

A young teenager was taken to hospital after being assaulted outside food premises in Ballycastle yesterday evening Police have said.

Police are now appealing for information in relation to the assault.

PSNI Sergeant Donaghy said: “A report was received at approximately 10.45pm of about an incident in Castle Street.

“Police attended the scene, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

“A 14-year-old male was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries not believed to be life threatening at this time. 

“Police are keen to speak to a man who was seen in the area at the time, and left in the direction of the Coleraine Road. He is described as being of medium build, bald, and was wearing a purple / brown t-shirt.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time, and who may have any information which could assist with our enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 2099 of 21/08/21.”
