Three charged following Bangor assaults on 16 year old.

Following a prolonged assault on a 16 year old female in Bangor on Friday evening, Three teenagers have appeared in court and been charged.

The attack on the 16 year old was vicious and she suffered severe injuries to her face and head. During the attack she was kicked, punched and her head was banged off the ground. The victims injuries were so severe that medical staff could preform an X-ray.

The accused are a 16-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman named Cora Campbell, who all appeared in Downpatrick Magistrates Court this morning.

They will all be due back to court in May.

Their charges are as followed: Cora Campbell 18 years, of English Street, Downpatrick, County Down, was charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) and was refused bail due to concerns over risk she would reoffending.

The 16 year old female, (who can’t be named) is charged with GBH, and was also refused bail.

The 17 year old male (again who can’t be named) has been charged with GBH, aiding and abetting GBH and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 17 year male did’t make an application for bail.

Backlash still contributes across social media with many signing an online petition calling for tougher charges and sentencing.
