Three now dead following Cookstown incident.

MCAULEY MULTIMEDIA...17 MARCH 2019...Two people have died following a St Patrick's Day party at a hotel in Cookstown, County Tyrone. Police said another two people were being treated in hospital - one in a critical condition - following the incident at the Greenvale Hotel. The hotel was hosting a party for young people to celebrate St Patrick's Day. Police said while the exact circumstances were still unknown, there were reports of a crush at the scene. Family members of all four people involved have been informed, the Police Service of Northern Ireland tweeted. There young people have now died as a result of yesterday evenings incident at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown.

Emergency services attended the scene after a number of calls were made to the 999 control room describing a ‘crush’ incident.
The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, the Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, has expressed her sincere sorrow at the news that three young people have died in Cookstown following a celebration of St Patrick’s Day at the Greenvale Hotel. 
She said:

“I am deeply sorry to hear that three young people tragically lost their lives at a hotel in Cookstown. They were joining others in what should have been an evening for celebration. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends at this extremely difficult time. 

“I have spoken this morning to ACC Mark Hamilton of the PSNI who is leading the investigation alongside the Heath and Safety Executive and I asked to be kept updated. I want to thank the Police, Ambulance and Fire Services for all that they did last night in responding to this incident.”
