
Two men have narrowly escaped injury after jumping from the second storey of a burning building in Ballymoney, County Antrim.
The blaze started around 9.25pm on Christmas night in the Charles Street area of the town.
Four fire appliances attended the well developed fire last night and the NIFRS had to return earlier this afternoon after the fore partially reignited.
A PSNI spokesperson said: ”Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire at a flat in Ballymoney last night.
”Police and NIFRS responded to the blaze on Charles Street, which was reported at 9:25pm. Two men who were in the property at the time managed to get themselves out and to safety through an upstairs window.”
Inspector Stephen McCafferty said: “Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in what was a terrifying ordeal for the occupants. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and we would appeal to anyone with information about what happened to call us on 101, quoting reference number 1325 of 25/12/20.”
