The PSNI have held a press conference today giving an update on the current investigation into the Greenvale Hotel Tragedy.
Speaking at the press conference, the chief investigating officer revealed that they have identified more than 400 individuals who were either in the line waiting to get into the hotel or in the car park that evening.
Of these people, 82 have already been interviewed, but it has been challenging due to the young age of individuals who are ‘vulnerable’ at this time.
The police have still to interview 106 others and have reached out to the 200+ others identified.
The police also appealed for anyone not yet identified or that has come forward to do so, either to the 101 non emergency number or their investigating or cyber teams based at the Burnavon Arts & Culture centre.
The families of the three teenagers who died, also asked police to pass on their ‘heartfelt’ thanks to the local community for its support and also a special thanks to the emergency services including staff at Antrim Area Hospital.
The funerals will all take place on Friday and both the police and families have asked the media to respect their privacy at this time.
Police has have said they ‘won’t’ apologise for the arrest and de-arrest of an individual in his 50s on suspicion of drug related charges as it was ‘normal practice’ and at the time the evidence that the arresting officer found, white powder and tin foil, led the office to believe it could be drugs.
Fast tracked drug test found the powder not to be drug, though the substance still hasn’t yet been identified.
