Councillor Darryl Wilson has welcomed news that Thousands of Northern Ireland pensioners in receipt of Personal Independence Payments will no longer have to undergo repeat assessments for the benefit.
Councillor Wilson said;
“The government have a duty to ensure that those who have paid into the system all their lives receive support when they need it most.
The Department of Communities has confirmed it will bring in the change in line with the rest of the UK which will affect 7,500 pensioners from the spring.”
